HADID’S WORLD DOMINATION
Iraqi-British starchitect Zaha Hadid continues her quest for world domination with two new buildings to be built in Queensland, Australia. Hadid previously designed the American University of Beirut’s IFI Building and an upcoming Aïshti project under construction in the Beirut Souks (below).
The 44-story Mariner’s Cove development, to be built by the Sunland Group of Australia, will incorporate a hotel, residential building, museum and underground aquarium. The project is currently estimated to cost $600 million AUD and awaits approval from local authorities in Australia’s Gold Coast.
The project somewhat resembles the three Blossoming Towers designed by Hadid for Brisbane’s waterfront, also for the Sunland Group.
