NEW ANT SPECIES NAMED AFTER RADIOHEAD
Discovered in the Venezuelan Amazon, a new species of ant was named Sericomyrmex radioheadi.
“We wanted to honor their music,” said Ana Ješovnik from the Smithsonian Institution’s Ant Lab. “But more importantly, we wanted to acknowledge the conservation efforts of the band members, especially in raising climate-change awareness.”
Earlier this month, a new species of shrimp was named after Pink Floyd!
