MORE THAN A MUSE
Loulou de la Falaise: The Glamorous Romantic celebrates the legacy of Loulou de la Falaise, style icon and enduring muse to Yves Saint Laurent. Ariel de Ravenel, the haute bohémienne’s close friend and the book’s editor, visited Beirut this winter and talked to A magazine about the tome, de la Falaise and her unexpected connection to Lebanon. “Rabih Kayrouz admired her very much and she loved him,” de Ravenel says. “Loulou always went to his shows. She didn’t go to many – they had a very special relationship.” One look at the book and Kayrouz’s admiration is easy to understand. Read the full piece here.
“The first impression you got from Loulou – apart from her style, which was so obvious – is that she was very lively and, at the same time, very poetic. There were so many sides to her, which just meant that when she walked into a room, she was the life of wherever she was.”
