IN MAR MIKHAEL
In the blink of an eye, Mar Mikhael has blossomed from a dilapidated neighborhood filled with mechanic shops to a thriving area overflowing with bars and boutiques. As part of a new initiative, a week-long event will celebrate its regeneration with urban talks, tours, workshops and exhibitions. We caught up with Imad Gemayel, landscape architect and cultural crusader, who will be hosting the event’s opening ceremony at his premises tonight. Tel. 01.44.8720
I’m most excited about… Breaking new ground; daring or experimenting with things that no one has tried before.
Happiness is… Found on a swing by the sea with a cool breeze (once that new ground has been broken).
My biggest vice is… Not getting enough of what I love.
If I had to wear one thing for the rest of my life, it would be… The Arabian thobe. I’m not sure about about its practicality but it looks light, healthy, comfortable and it solves the question of what to wear every day!
Something that makes me cringe is… Selfishness and environmental insensitivity. This attitude bothers me more and more.
