M.I.A. often courts controversy without delving explicitly into it — and she’s done it again with her video “Borders,” in which the artist, who was born in Sri Lanka and lived through the civil war there, is surrounded by men dressed as migrants, posed on boats and by razor wire. “Your privilege: what’s up with that?” she sings. We’re not sure what to think, but at least M.I.A. always gives us something to think about it.
