L’HOMME MODERNE AT DEMISCH DANANT
French furniture designer Pierre Paulin was one of the most applauded European designers of the 20th century. Known for his iconic soft forms – a rebellion against the uncomfortable rigidity of ’50s furniture – he was selected to design George Pompidou’s presidential apartment in the Palais de l’Élysée. No mean feat for a man who failed at high school. An exhibition celebrating his work is on show at at Demisch Danant. Runs until June 27.
