KENZO PLAYS ON THE AGE OF TECHNOLOGY
Emmy nominee writer and comedian Carrie Brownstein takes part of fashion to direct a short film with Kenzo for its Fall 2016 collection.
The comedy, titled The Realest Real premiered during NYFW, casts an impressive line-up of stars from Orange is the New Blacks’ Natasha Lyonne, House of Cards actor Mahershala Ali, soon-to-be star of Spiderman Homecoming Laura Harrier and musician Kim Gordon.
It’s no surprise for Kenzo creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim to team up with filmmakers for launching a seasonal campaign. The design duo partnered with Portlandia co-creator Carrie Brownstein, who puts the fun in fashion presenting a disoriented view of today’s society- the hyperreal; exploring the boundaries between the ordinary ‘real’ life and the extraordinary, or ‘hyper-real’.
The ethereal campaign images shot by Mark Peckmezian, act as poster stills from the film, illustrating the stars moving from the real office environment into the hyperreal landscapes.
Feast your eyes on the campaign images.
