IN DEPTH: THE AÏSHTI FOUNDATION
Designed by British architect David Adjaye, the Aïshti Foundation building, a zigzag metal frame exterior design, is a melting pot of both modern art and fashion, and is, most importantly, an environmentally friendly space.
The energy-efficient building, carried out by a new management platform from Siemens, is implemented for the first time in Lebanon, and provides a Desigo CC combined with a Desigo PX building automation system. “The idea is always to work with the best in each field, so we chose to do the installation of building management system (BMS) with Siemens,” Tony Salamé, founder and CEO of Aïshti, explains.
Executed by the local Siemens Solution Partner, Khater Engineering, the platform serves as a control center covering the entire building’s performance, automation, fire and life safety, lighting, IP cameras, and power and energy.
“Today you cannot build structures that are not sustainable. Being friendly to the environment and reducing energy consumption is the least you can do,” Salamé says.
Antoine Makhoul, Administration Manager at Khater Engineering, explains further: “The Aïshti Foundation is like a living organism constantly adapting to the environment in an efficient and harmonious way. It saves a lot of energy by optimizing its energy flows and using highly efficient Siemens technologies. This lowers the operating costs and helps to reduce CO2 emissions.”
We would like to thank Siemens and Khater Engineering for sharing our great story with the world.
