A HAUTE HAIRSTYLE
At Dior’s spring/summer 2015 haute couture show on Monday, there was the usual throng of A-list celebrities, some fabulously reworked versions of the house’s iconic New Look gowns and an overdose of embellishments across the pieces that begged to be admired. Raf Simons artfully entwined the house’s history with decidedly rebellious textures (plastic, anyone?) in a show that challenged conventions of couture.
But what caught our eye most was Dior’s reworking of the ponytail. With the top half neatly tucked under and the tail emerging from a set of plastic bangles, it was a feat of hair engineering that has divided opinion. However, one thing’s for certain- if you want to look like part of the fashion jet-set, the poor man’s ponytail just won’t cut it anymore.
