After the hasty and unexpected exit of former creative director Frida Giannini, there was much curiosity about how Gucci’s new creative director would fare with the fall/winter 2015-16 womenswear show. But Alessandro Michele did not disappoint. Unapologetically carving out a new direction for the fashion house, his heavy-handed dose of hipster bohemia included gauzy skirts and sweater vests that approached luxury from a relaxed perspective.
