GUCCI ANNOUNCES NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR
After Frida Giannini’s abrupt exit from Gucci earlier this month, the question hanging over the industry was who’s going to replace her? The answer, at long last, is Alessandro Michele. Michele has flown relatively under the radar but you’re definitely familiar with his work: he’s been at Gucci since 2002 and was promoted to head accessories designer in 2011. The new creative director’s first collection will be fall/winter 2014-15, showing next month in Milan.
