IN DEPTH: CHERINE KHADRA
Cherine Khadra knows exactly what her aesthetic is. The Lebanese fashion designer, who has just opened Atelier C, her address for custom-made clothing in Saifi Village, advocates timelessness, explaining with a simplicity that underlines her sentiment, “I do not feel the need to create a collection in compliance with the seasons.” Instead, expect Uzbec and Indian textiles, silk and organza and streamlined silhouettes. We caught up with Khadra to understand how the designer finds serenity in a demanding life.
I’m most excited about… All the good things to come!
Happiness is… When you complain less and appreciate more.
My biggest vice is… Stubbornness.
If I had to wear one thing for the rest of my life, it would be… This is a nightmare! Maybe a light grey t-shirt with a comfortable pair of jeans.
A trend that makes me cringe is… When we follow trends so much that we end up being copies.
