BURBERRY STRAIGHT-TO-CONSUMER COLLECTION
New show, new collection, new campaign!
Burberry has uncovered elements from its first ever straight-to-consumer show to be presented on 19 September 2016. For the first time, menswear and womenswear collections will be showcased together on the runway with the collection to be available for purchase straight after the show.
The collection, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando, contrasts masculine and feminine styles across different periods of history by blending historical and artisanal details. The Bridle, a new bag for men and women, taking its inspiration from the classic British equestrian designs and Burberry’s heritage, will be highlighted in this collection as the latest Burberry design.
The new campaign featuring British cast members Jean Campbell, Cavan McCarthy and Alex Dragulele, is captured by photographer Mario Testino at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. The location accentuates a historic scenery matching the brand’s latest collection. Images of the campaign will launch exclusively straight after the new Burberry collection has been publicized, to match the collection’s instant availability for purchase globally.
Burberry was also prominent to announce its partnership with The New Craftsmen, exposés of Britain’s finest craft makers. The collaboration will launch the evening of the Burberry show, where the inspiration behind the collection will be brought to life. The venue will remain open thereafter for a period of 1 week for distinct themed events showcasing original works by a selection of makers.
