BAALBECK’S NEXT ACT
Hindi Zahra (called “Patti Smith of the desert”) is set to perform at Baalbeck this weekend. UPDATE: According the Baalbeck Festival, this concert has been cancelled.
Zahra grew up in Morocco with her mother but moved to France at 15; she sings in English and Berber. She moves like Florence Welch and she sounds a little bit like Lykke Li and a little bit like Nina Simone and a little bit like Edith Piaf if Edith had laid off the cigs.
Anyway, she’s pretty great so you should probably get tickets for her show at Baalbeck this weekend because what could be better than listening to a song like this in one of the most spectacular ancient ruins in the world?
Answer: Nothing. Nothing could be better. Buy tickets. Take a bus if you have to. Don’t miss it.
