ART: WHEN IN PARIS – AIRPORT ART
Art dealer Larry Gagosian has opened his latest and biggest gallery in a hangar at Le Bourget airport near Paris. The inauguration of an art space in an airport is richly symbolic for Gagosian. His global network of galleries represents the estates and careers of many of the world’s top artists, including Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, Richard Serra and Damien Hirst.
Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel designed the vast new space, which occupies a former ‘50s hangar and spreads over two levels and 1,650 square meters.
Inaugural exhibition by Anselm Kiefer on view until January 26th, 2013, Paris, France.
