“ROAD TO EXCELLENCE” BY CORNELIANI
“My working method has more often than not involved the subtraction of weight. I have tried to remove weight, sometimes from people, sometimes from heavenly bodies, sometimes from cities; above all I have tried to remove weight from the structure of stories and from language.” — Italo Calvino
The great author Calvino’s philosophies act as a guideline for several forms of expression, including fashion, or rather, the language of elegance. Taking inspiration from Calvino’s philosophy the “Road to Excellence” project by Corneliani focuses on lightness. By literally removing weight from the structure of jackets and suits and focusing on the use of very light fabrics, the ultimate aim is to “remove weight” and add value. The flexibility and the interchangeability of fabrics and finishes, keeps with the criteria of lightness allowing you to effortlessly transition between business and informal wardrobes.
The project has given rise to two areas of qualitative value: competence and delight. Competence, the result of high-tech research and the most modern manufacturing techniques. The distinctive mark of all the garments, which perform superbly in any situation. Delight, by using the most prestigious materials and construction techniques, emphasizing the pleasure of wearing garments that are exceptionally light.
Corneliani’s end result is indisputably sophisticated, meeting the demands and expectations of the contemporary man.
