Local businesses and Lebanese parliamentarians attended a press conference today entitled “Saving the Heart of Beirut.” Speakers at the conference included Mohamed Chocair, President of Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Nasser Chammaa, Chairman and General Manager of Solidere, Nicolas Chammas, Chairman of Beirut Traders’ Association, Michel Salameh, COO of Aïshti as well as Said Daher, CEO of Azadea.
The conference speakers emphasized the government’s responsibilities to the Lebanese people, and stressed the need to keep Downtown Beirut open and operating throughout the current situation. Additionally, they reinforced the need for continued optimism and positivity among business owners in order to maintain stability Downtown, the “heart of Beirut.”
The Press Conference was held today at the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. It was announced by the Beirut Traders’ Association and the Chamber of Commerce of Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
Additionally, Parliament members in attendance included Michael Faroun, Mohamad Kibani, Atef Mijdalani, Ghazi Youssef, Amar Houry, Jean Aghasbian, Nadim Jmeil, Imad Hout, Salim Deb, Bilal Hamd, Mohamed Lamah, Nassib Jmeil, Jack El Saraf. Other attendees included business owners of Downtown Beirut.
